"i am what i am and what i am needs no excuses" [Oct. 20th, 2005|04:38 pm]
Out of the Closet, Into the Box

Here's a list of some movies that are either already out or will be released within the next few months that feature a myriad of gay, transgendered, and/or crossdressing characters.

Kinky Boots -- "A man finds an unlikely ally in Lola, a brassy cabaret singer, in his effort to save his father's shoe factory."

Transamerica -- "A pre-operative male-to-female transsexual takes an unexpected journey when she learns that she fathered a son, now a teenage runaway hustling on the streets of New York." (Starring Felicity Huffman!)

Brokeback Mountain -- "An epic love story set against the sweeping vistas of Wyoming and Texas, Brokeback Mountain tells the story of two young men - a ranch-hand and a rodeo cowboy - who meet in the summer of 1963, and unexpectedly forge a lifelong connection, one whose complications, joys and tragedies provide a testament to the endurance and power of love."

The Producers -- "The Producers tells the story of a down on his luck producer (Lane) and his accountant (Broderick) and their get rich quick plan." Not really gay-themed, but Gary Beach is reprising his Broadway role of Roger De Bris as well and appears in drag as only he can do.

ETA: Completely forgot this one:

Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang -- "A murder mystery brings together a private eye, a struggling actress, and a thief masquerading as an actor." Val Kilmer's character happens to be gay.
